Dear Southbridge Middle School Families,
We are excited to announce that our April Spirit Day will be Hat Day! It is our hope that all students will show some Southbridge Spirit by dressing up.
- What: Hat Day
- Wear appropriate clothing that shows SMS pride to school (see guidelines below). Teachers will participate too!
- All participating students will earn a teamwork point through our PBIS Rewards Program.
- The homeroom in each grade level with the highest percentage of participating students will earn points towards a celebration at the end of the year.
- There will be individual shout outs in each grade level for some different categories as well

Please note that students do not have to wear SMS attire to school, regular clothing is fine. Students who cannot participate due to religious or cultural reasons can privately inform their teachers, and may still earn a PBIS point, as well as contribute to the homeroom class count. If students want to participate in the spirit day, they need to follow these rules:
- Spirit day attire still needs to comply with the school dress code from our Student and Parent/Guardian Handbook: “In the spirit of maintaining an orderly and safe learning environment, students are prohibited from wearing any article of clothing or carrying any backpack or other accessory which is lewd, which promotes violence or hate for any individuals or groups, or which degrades the beliefs of others.”

Nos complace anunciar que nuestro Día del Espíritu en Abril será el Día de Gorros!Esperamos que todos los estudiantes muestren algo del espíritu de Southbridge vistiéndose.
- Qué: Día de Gorros
- Tener ropa apropiada que muestre el orgullo escolar (vea las pautas a continuación). ¡Los maestros también participarán!
- Todos los estudiantes participantes obtendrán un punto de trabajo en equipo a través de nuestro Programa de Recompensas PBIS.
- El salón principal de cada nivel de grado con el porcentaje más alto de estudiantes participantes ganará puntos para una celebración al final del año.
- También habrá reconocimientos individuales en cada nivel de grado para algunas categorías diferentes.

Tenga en cuenta que los estudiantes no tienen que usar una gorra para ir a la escuela, la ropa regular está bien. Los estudiantes que no puedan participar debido a motivos religiosos o culturales pueden informar en privado a sus maestros y aún pueden ganar un punto PBIS, así como contribuir al conteo de clases del salón de clases. Si los estudiantes quieren participar en el día del espíritu, deben seguir estas reglas:
- Vestimenta del día del espíritu aún debe cumplir con el código de vestimenta escolar de nuestro Manual para estudiantes y padres/tutores: “Con el espíritu de mantener un ambiente de aprendizaje ordenado y seguro, se prohíbe a los estudiantes usar cualquier prenda de vestir o cargar cualquier mochila u otro accesorio que sea lascivo, que promueva la violencia o el odio hacia cualquier individuo o grupo, o que degrade las creencias de otros."
