Southbridge Public Schools Announces Leadership Transition

Southbridge, MA – Southbridge Public Schools announces that Assistant Superintendent Dr. Kelly Williamson will be leaving the district to assume a new role as Assistant Superintendent with the Bedford Public Schools. Dr. Williamson has served the Southbridge community with dedication and distinction, and her leadership has played a significant role in the district’s progress over the past several years.

“Dr. Williamson has been an exceptional leader during a critical time for Southbridge,” said Dr. Jeffrey Villar, Receiver for Southbridge Public Schools. “Her commitment to students, staff, and families has been unwavering, and we thank her for her service and wish her continued success in Bedford.”

To ensure a smooth transition and continued momentum, Dr. Villar has appointed Judy Maisonet as the new Assistant Superintendent of Schools. Maisonet currently serves as Chief of Staff for Southbridge Public Schools and previously held the role of Principal at Charlton Street School, where she was widely respected for her instructional leadership and deep commitment to student success.

“Judy Maisonet is a strong and passionate leader who knows Southbridge well,” said Dr. Villar. “She brings deep knowledge of our schools, a track record of collaboration, and a student-centered approach that will serve the district well as we continue on our path of improvement.”

Dr. Williamson’s last day with Southbridge Public Schools will be at the end of the current academic year. The district is committed to working closely with both leaders to ensure a seamless transition for staff, students, and families.
