Ms. Houle started her career as a high school social studies teacher in 2009, after having earned a Bachelor's Degree in History from Boston University and a Master's degree in History Education from UMass Boston.
Throughout her teaching career, she served on her school's Instructional Leadership Team and as the moderator of the high school's Student Council. After many people "tapped her on the shoulder" and encouraged her to go into leadership, Ms. Houle enrolled in the Licensure and Leadership Program through the MA School Administrators Association.
After securing a second Master's in Educational Leadership from Endicott College through that program in 2018, she transitioned into the role of Assistant Principal at Southbridge Middle School the following year. Ms. Houle served as Assistant Principal, Associate Principal, and is now Principal of Southbridge Middle School. She, in collaboration with the leadership team and staff of Southbridge Middle School, have developed systems to ensure school safety, improve teacher professional development, and increase instructional outcomes for students.
Ms. Houle states the best part of her job at Southbridge Middle School is "seeing the students achieve. Every time they notice their growth, have a great academic outcome, or achieve a personal best, it is so cool to watch them increase their belief that they are capable of amazing things."
